How Climate Change Affects Your Mental Health

This short TED Talk by science writer, Britt Wray, explores how climate change is impacting our mental health. People are experiencing fear, hopelessness, anxiety, grief and depression. The unprecedented changes to our environment are threatening “our mental, social and spiritual well-being”. She points out that “a leading indicator that climate change is starting to hit home, psychologically, is an increase in informed women deciding not to have children”. It reveals how hard-pressed people are feeling and reveals that understanding how our daily actions are contributing to the issue is messing with our minds. This is why Wray argues that mental health should to be an integral part of any climate change survival strategy.
