Post Cop 21

This article from the New York Times examines some of the practical realities the United States will face to achieve Paris climate goals. When is it best to ask, and when is it the time to tell? Many companies and organizations have voluntarily embraced the plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fall in line with the new climate commitments,  but those who are less inclined to get on board may have to be motivated by legislation. It is not just the day-to-day business of industry and the behaviour of the general population that needs to change in order to meet the very necessary goals set out by the leaders during COP21, but the laws of the land themselves. Without reformative legal defenses in place to ensure the implementation of new regulations, there may be long, hard fights ahead; and we know now that there may not be a lot of time left to sit around arguing.
