Full Circle

The Rockefeller family made their fortune, with many others,  in the burgeoning oil industry of the 19th century, and profited immensely from their investment until recently. In 2014, the heirs to the fortune announced plans to divest from fossil fuel over concerns about climate change. At the time, they called it their “moral duty”. Now, in 2016, they are fulfilling that promise, saying they will take action “as soon as possible”, citing the “morally reprehensible conduct on behalf of ExxonMobil” as just one of the reasons for their divestment from fossil fuels. With this kind of ongoing leadership from the charitable community, as well universities and colleges, there is no doubt the evolution to a carbon neutral economy will happen in our lifetimes.  Onward to 2050!
