Forget me Knots?

If you follow any of the following high profile names – Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Campbell, Doutzen Kroes, Karlie Kloss, or Pearl Jam – you may have seen these celebrities and their friends sporting knotty fashions this week, for a cause.

The #knotonmyplanet campaign is raising money and awareness in order to end elephant poaching and the ivory trade. It's a simple directive to tie a 'memory knot' to protect the elephants that never forget: "Tie a knot. Donate. End the slaughter," in Campbell's words. While the #knotonmyplanet viral campaign takes a lighthearted approach, with wordplay and bare midriffs, the website cuts right to the chase to illustrate how each dollar will help the cause. $1 will satellite track an elephant for 12 days, and $100 will fuel an anti-poaching aircraft for an hour. A joint effort between the Wildlife Conservation Network and Save the Elephants, 100% of donations go to the Elephant Crisis Fund, which is focused solely on ending the ivory crisis.
