Redesigning Ottawa--Transitioning to a Resilient Future
If you were serious about peak oil and climate change, tune in as we discuss a citizen's action plan for the city of Ottawa. We could become a leader in sustainability with other cities, like Vancouver, or remain a backwater of mediocrity, it is all in integrated planning.

Dr. Ann Dale

Ann DaleAnn Dale is a Professor at Royal Roads University, where she leads several research projects, including e-Dialogues for Sustainable Development and is active in the environmental movement.

Dr. Chris Ling

Chris is a recent post-doctoral fellow living in Victoria, Dr Chris LingBritish Columbia. He is Asssociate Faculty at Royal Roads University and is part of the Canada Research Chair is Sustainable Community Development research team.
 


Dominica Babicki, District of North Vancouver

Dominica Babicki is the Supervisor - Sustainability Planning Research and Community Consultation at the District of North Vancouver where she oversees a small group of designers and researchers. Prior to joining the District in 2007, Dominica was a Senior Associate with the International Centre for Sustainable Cities.


Jim Hamilton

Jim HamiltonJim is a seasoned consultant with extensive experience in the governance and financing of public institutions, especially in relationship to questions of sustainability. Jim's experiences stem from over twenty-five years in analyzing and advising on financial, environmental and sustainability matters while with Hamilton, Thomas and Associates Ltd and previously as a senior executive and analyst within the Treasury Board Secretariat within the Government of Canada.


Dr Chris Stoney

Chris Stoney is Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration. His current research includes the use of community engagement in neighbourhood urban planning and issues of emergency management and preparedness. He also writes on intergovernmental relations and various aspects Canadian public policy such as regulation, procurement and accountability.


Rebecca Aird

Rebecca AirdRebecca is an environmental consultant and auditor and founding chair of Sustainable Living Ottawa East, a catalyst organization that has successfully established several projects to facilitate more sustainable lifestyles for residents such as community gardens, children’s garden,  farmers market and an initiative to enhance ecological conditions and amenities along the community's stretch of the Rideau River shoreline . Resident of Terra Firma co-housing community.

Chris WilsonMr. Wilson is a management consultant specializing in organizational development, governance, stewardship and collaborative issues. He is a founding member of Transition Ottawa and a Research Fellow and part-time lecturer in the Centre on Governance at the University of Ottawa.
