Dr. Armitage researches adaptive community bases resource management.Three questions frame this inquiry: (1) How might changing patterns of ecological resource use and access affect the development of adaptive capacity in communities and community-based organizations? (2) How do heterogeneous community interests/goals, and evolving levels of trust, networking and bonding influence opportunities for learning and adaptation in community-based resource management contexts?; and (3) What strategies and tools are available to build adaptive capacity within the institutional and organizational frameworks.
