We start the New Year with more potential for a better world after COP 21. It is an important beginning and interestingly, the tragic deaths in Paris may have caused greater solidarity among world leaders. Once decision-makers see the co-benefits of implementing renewable energy systems, not the least of which will be emerging new employment opportunities, hopefully, it will accelerate even greater innovations leading to a carbon neutral economy well before 2050. What made COP 21 different was the unprecedented leadership of the French government, business leaders and other political leadership from the small island states.
On behalf of my research team, Rob Newell, Chris Strashok and Alastair Moore, we wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season.
