Kickstarter is an online forum for those interested in sharing their artistic or technological projects. This online platform allows artists and inventors to exhibit their work and gather financial support for their projects through the global network. Through the Kickstarter system, potential funders and supporters of projects have the opportunity to review project plans and completion timelines, which allows people to be virtually involved in project geneses.

A new presentation has been posted and is available from our publications archives.  Presented at the International Conference on Degrowth in the Americas (Montreal, May 13th to May 19th 2012), Degrowth: A Critical Juncture? summarizes the outcomes of our regional preparatory workshop on degrowth held at Royal Roads (March 30th, 2012).

The Globe and Mail has recently released an article, entitled The Power of Co-operatives: Ethical values underpin global movement, on the role of co-operative models in transitioning to a more sustainable economic system.

Tomorrrow, May 23th, at 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. PST, we will be holding the first of our Meeting the Climate Change Challenge (MC³) e-Dialogues, entitled Climate Change Responses and Sustainable Development Paths - Unmasking the Synergies. This conversation will bring together some of B.C.'s leading researchers to discuss their current project investigation climate change innovations in BC communities.

A new resource has been added to our Community Vitality Project: The Community Information Database (CID). CID is an interactive website that provides socio-economic and demographic data on communities across Canada.

A new video has been released on the CRC HEADTalks Channel featuring quotes and concepts used to stimulate conversation at our workshop held on March 30th, entitled De-growth: A Critical Juncture?. The workshop brought together academics and practitioners from a variety of different locations and disciplines to explore alternative models to the our current system of constant economic growth.
