For me, the good society is about relationships and kindness. In many ways that is why I started to research ‘social capital’ and ‘network formation’, but it essentially comes down to relationships, with one another, the places in which we live, our neighbours, friends and families. At the end of the day, that is what really counts. Read this good news story about the benefits of being in relationships with ‘others’.
And kindness. I once said to one of my classes, maybe it isn’t about more science, more information, we simply need to be kinder to one another, and to the animals with whom we share this earth, and then we will truly become more sustainable.
In a reflective mood, as I said goodbye to a dear younger friend who stayed overnight and left this morning. He is such a dedicated person to making the world a better place. Travel safely Yuill.
