Coming out of the Closet

There is no doubt an engaged, literate citizenry is crucial for democratic systems of governance. This article argues that the many challenges now facing the human race demands a reliable knowledge of what can be done and social capital to make it happen. Since science, and I would argue the humanities and social sciences, is crucial to producing reliable knowledge, it must come out of the closet, and relocate itself in the mainstream of society as “an ongoing authentic collaboration between the public and professionals”.

Democratic systems of governance are outdated. They have proved already that cannot honor their electoral promises and projects. I do not advocating anarchy nor some bijuterii inox middle age systems, but something else should be done excluding the democratic ones.
Of course, every system type of governance is protected by its empowered, very very rich people.
