A Picture is worth a Thousand Words
My Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Community Development ends this September 2014. As part of our wrap-up, we prepared this visualization summarizing community successes and critical needs from our community case studies. From this picture, you can see that relocalization of economies is still a critical need in Canadian communities, also one of our recommendations from our degrowth work. On the other hand, stakeholder engagement appears to be culturally embedded, although we still need a lot of work on equity, inclusivity of difference and collaboration, as well as shared decision making. As well, as part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, you may be interested in this report prepared by Research Associate, Rob Newell, which outlines our web presence and traffic and what we have learned over the last three years experimenting with research dissemination through social media channels.
