The Integrated Assessment Society AGM Forum ->

1. Welcome and Instructions

Dear TIAS members

Welcome to the Annual General Meeting 2008.

Please READ THIS SECTION before you begin reviewing the various sections of the meeting forum.
Start date of meeting: June 25.  New end date Weds. July 2 (end of workday).

FORMAT: The forum follows the format of the agenda sent with your original invitation. When you click on a heading, explanatory text appears at the top of the page. This is followed in several sections with relevant documents that can be opened and downloaded/ printed.

VOTING AND MOTIONS: In section 4.  Legal/Constitutional Matters  you may follow the link to vote for Advisory Board members and extended executive members (Secr. treasurer and 2 assistants). In 6. Motions  we ask you to accept or reject the documents presented in this meeting forum: Minutes AGM 2007, Annual report 2007, Financial Report 2007, Plans 2008-09 and Budget 2008.

POSTING COMMENTS: within each heading/section of the agenda you may respond to anything presented by posting a comment. Simply scroll down to the 'Post a comment' section. Insert a subject that is as descriptive as possible (this is very important to make it easier for those reviewing the comments) enter your comment in the designated box and submit (or preview) the comment.

NAVIGATION: If at any point you wish to return to the home page for this TIAS Forum click on the heading at the top of the page: The Integrated Assessment Society AGM Forum ->
Within a topic (or section) you will also see a link to the following and preceding topic/ section.
Important: When opening a document (most of which are pdf's) the file opens in the browser window. To go back to the forum, do not close the document (because this closes the browser) , but use the back arrow key to return to the previous page of the browser.

ELECTRONIC FORUM: Although we would prefer to hold an live meeting with our members, this is simply not practical since our members are so dispersed around the world.  When the opportunity presents itself such as an international conference in which a sufficient number of members are attending, we will of course take the opportunity to hold a meeting.  Running a meeting such as this on an electronic forum is not as fluid as we would all like ,but it does allow more of our members to participate. We consider it still to be experimental so we welcome your comments and suggestions for making it function more smoothly.  You may use the  comment space below to provide your feedback.

If you have any questions or concerns which do not fall directly within the scope of a listed topic of the meeting, if you require clarification on any issues, or if you have a technical problem, you may also use the comment space below,  but if you require a more immediate response, please send Caroline van Bers a note by email: cvbers@usf.uos.de

A special note of thanks to Ann Dale and Sustainable Community Development

The electronic forum space for this TIAS meeting has been generously donated by Prof. Ann Dale, Dr. Chris Ling and Dr. Lenore Newman of  Royal Roads University in Canada. This very innovative electronic forum platform (http://www.crcresearch.org/) launched by Prof. Dale and her colleagues has as its central goal the development of ‘civic literacy and useful knowledge for integrated decision-making around critical public policy issues, particularly, sustainable community development’. The TIAS executive committee is pleased to be provided with the space and resources for our activities on this site. A special thanks also to Dr. Chris Ling for his time and patience in setting up the forum for us.
