Scheduled for 2:00pm EST, November 8th, the second in a series of three e-Dialogues. This policy research project is working with an advisory team of staff and elected officials from Canadian municipalities to seek out leading edge and innovative policies and instruments on sustainability policy and action, ensuring that the results of this research project have the greatest potential to be implemented.

Review and Planning: Past and Future Five Years
On June 16th at 3:00 p.m. EST, the original CRC Research team of Professors Ann Dale, Lenore Newman, Chris Ling, and Chris Strashok will engage in an e-Dialogue that will review their findings on the last five years of the research program focusing on how scale, limits, diversity, and place relate to sustainable communities. The e-Dialogue will then shift to plans for the next five years of the CRC Research program and will involve discussion between Dr. Dale and the newer research team members: Yuill Herbert , Rebecca Foon, and Rob Newell.

Sustainable Building: Discussion on LEED-ND Rating System
Scheduled for June 29th at 1pm EST, this e-Dialogue examines the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Neighbourhood Development (LEED-ND) rating system. The session is a component of the graduate research of Katherine Constantine who has conducted a case study review of three stage-two certified LEED-ND communities registered under the USGBC Pilot Version--- Dockside Green, South East False Creek, and Garrison Crossing, all located in British Columbia. The e-Dialogue brings together planners, architects, and policy-makers, and the session will involving insight and idea sharing on the LEED-ND system and sustainable building.

On May 23rd, members of the MC3 research team explain why investigating the types of climate change innovations occurring in BC communities is important. They discuss the opportunities of these innovations for social learning among communities and the strategic implications for transitioning to more sustainable development paths. This is the first of a series of MC3 conversations which will specifically focus on climate change responses and sustainable development paths.
